Logic Problem Answers

Four of our friends had their dogs entered at last Sunday's dog show. Three of the four brought home ribbons for placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Each dog was a different breed, had a different owner, and a different favorite treat. From the clues below can you place each dog with its owner, tell its breed, its place, and favorite doggie treat?

  1. Mona owns the Golden Retriever.
  2. The dog that likes liver took fourth.
  3. The Beagle likes chicken as a treat.
  4. Gary's dog took 2nd.
  5. The dog that likes dog cookies ranked higher in its division than the one who likes bones.
  6. Helen 's dog was neither the highest nor the lowest finisher of the four dogs.
  7. The Terrier had a higher ranking than the Spaniel.
  8. Gary's dog does not like chicken.
  9. Walt's dog did not win a ribbon.
